I was a higher secondary pupil having entered in teen age at the beginning of 2001. I was very well connected to electronic media through TV. I didn't watch too many Hollywood movies and didn't go to PVR.I didn't have a desktop. Then I came across a promo of a Hollywood movie. I still can remember a small kid character Harry Potter smiling and cheering on the promo. I liked the promo but couldn't see that movie until it came on TV (I believe on HBO or Star movies)It was Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone.Then came the Chamber of secrets. I did not know the character names and their casts' real names. I remember somewhere in 2002 may I went to XLRI If i am right to attend BQC quiz.All students from Jamshedpur's top schools came there for the quiz show.Host was Barry o Brian I believe. There I was in the audience. It was one of the great moments I had with talented students of my home town. There were questions about harry potter characters. I was blank about that then. Well I watched that 2nd part later on TV. one benefits of TV you get to see same movie again and again. I watched 1 and 2 many times and improved my understanding on characters of HP and was able to understand English dialogue's better.
I joined diploma college again with one of the most talented students as it was the first batch of R D TATA in alliance with southern based NTTF.I was disconnected from cable TV for a while and thanks to my Military schedule of Diploma.I hardly got time to watch movies on weekdays as I had a routing of morning 7 to evening 7 and that too with many tough benchmarks of tasks. Anyway without going into my diploma schedule in detail I want to say is I was blessed with people who were really updated about e media and activities going around world,movies sports etc. I herd the name harry potter and I came to know some sequel came and it is related to some prisoner of Azkaban. I just knew that title :P. I was in diploma 2nd year. When I was in 4th sem or 5th sem i dnt recall exactly once another movie came. I was detached from my school time vigour about the move thinking it childish. But on the verge of 6th sem everything was changing in me related to life. In short I can say I had many positives in life and You know what at the age of 18 I was selected for Infosys which I dreamed of working for when I went t Bangalore 2004 and saw Bangalore campus from outside.Anyway I will discuss that later.Now focus is on HP. So After my farewell I had some 2 and half month of leisure before I could join Infy. I got harry potter part 1-4 from my friend Basu . I watched it many times and many times and many times. I was trying to go back in past into my school days and feel what I missed in my school days.
I joined Infy and we all people had got a big thing on cyber space 'ORKUT'. Everybody had their profile like resume. I also made mine and guess what we have communities.I Joined harry potter. I took admission in BCA in 2007 feb. I was in pune and not into TV much so was not having a track of release date of HP-5. I was returning back from exam and I could see Harry potter banner on one of the Cinema near corporation. I wanted to go for one of the first shows.[ It would have been my PVR debut if HP]. Anyway my exams continued and i couldn't watch on big screen. I watched it later on my newly purchased desktop in Pune.
All other activities related to harry potter movie continued like collecting wallpapers ,communities invites etc. I never ever read harry potter books and was amazed how people finish thick books. Thanks to Wikipedia ! I came to know all possible release dates of HP future sequels. I went to E square once and purchased HP and half blood prince book [ as it was the next movie in 2009 which was after 1 year]. I started to read but I was like tortoise who was not steady :D. I being a perfectionist especially in vocabs was bored of having dictionary and reading the book as i didn't want to infer any incorrect meaning of word. My plan failed. I couldn't continue reading as it bored me even if it was of my favorite character HP. HP and half blood prince came and It was my debut HP movie on screen. I was very excited about it till the move finished.(Though the movie was not so catchy like prev ones but left a promise of coming sequel to be interesting.
I still give examples of my HP book reading how bad i am at book reading ;). Guess what time never flew so swiftly in my life. The dates once I saw on Wikipedia in 2007 are coming to me very quick. Here is Harry potter movie 7 - 1. I shared it on Facebook [ I am almost dead on orkut now and too active on FB as ppl say]. I went to watch the movie with Vineet Anna [ Vineet Khan my friend.We call each other anna whenever we meet ..funny sometimes may be efect of our friends from down south.]. I liked the movie HP and deathly hallows.The last scene when "You know who" (VOLDEMORT) captures the elder wand from Dumbledore's grave. I OMG...What next ".... the same feel I got when Dumbledore died at the end of Half Blood prince movie. I knew I will get answers after 1 year in the last movie. I dint want to search the result on google as many dedicated book readers know the story already. I was hoping that Dumbledore might come back. I always suspected on Snape but with time and sequels I found that he is the gray shade character of the movie who could be the hidden hero at the end and I came to know from my friend Sagar before the movie. I kinda had a small gut feeling as I could get from the Harry potter book first 2 chapters and actual scenes in movie.
I have been following the latest news from FB communities and on E News , news papers. We the fans who are following it up and relating to its wonders from last 10 years. They are the one living it on screen.The final movie premiers in London. It was emotional for them,reaching to the end of the movie series.
Tomorrow is 16th July 2011. I have booked 3D show at 4 PM at e Square,Pune. I have no words left to describe my feeling... It is the story I have already kept in one of my lifelong memories corner. I love this series. I will share my view after I watch the movie... catch you later...
